Bernhard Langer wins the Senior Open Championship by a recond-breaking 13 strokes.

He puts in as much practice time as any tour pro. He prepares for every tournament like it’s a major championship. He’s as particular and dialed into his equipment as any Adams tour staff pro has ever been. He’s methodical. And he’s a fearless competitor.

So when he runs away from the rest of the field, 13 strokes away, it’s not really a big surprise. That’s just what Bernhard Langer is capable of doing when he plays his best golf. And he did just that at the 2014 Senior Open Championship at Royal Porthcawl in Wales. The only question was – who would finish in second place?

Bernhard is a true gentleman but he’ll run through you if you’re in his way. A champion 21 times now on the Champions Tour … and that’s only 7 years worth of tournaments. He’s moving his way up the All-time Wins List very quickly. This is the same 57 year old who finished 8th at The Masters earlier this year. Age is only a number to him. Never count him out.

At Royal Porthcawl, he made it look easy most of the time. That’s what can happen when you sharpen your skills the way he does and prepare like no other.

“I was lacking concentration a couple of times today,” he admitted. “When your lead is so big, it’s hard to focus.”

Leading all others by more than a dozen strokes will do that to a golfer – even to Bernhard, arguably the most focused player on tour.
