My question is this can factory bend these to 1.5 upright and can factory install ust pro regular flex shaft in the forged V3 set 4 thru gap??? would like to know the answer to these two questions please
Hi John, thanks for the question. Yes, we can customize the Tech V3 and add that shaft. You can call our customer service dept and they’ll guide you through the process 1-800-709-6142
I am interested in the V3 Hybrid set that has gap, pitch and 9-7 hybrid with the head that looks more like a conventional head than a pure hybrid. The 6-4 have the pure (large) hybrid head which I had trouble with in the simulator. Do make a set thru the 4 with the more conventional hybrid head.
i am going to buy irons in june or july , it is my wish to be fitted and intend to purchase what ever works best.
Idea Tech V3 Hybrid iron Set, what about the new grooves? When will they be available? How to
order?
Hi Richard – The Idea Tech V3 Hybrid Irons hit stores on October 1st. They will be conforming to the USGA standards and you can pick them up at any retailer worldwide. We’ve got a retail locator on our website that will help you find an Adams Golf dealer near you.
Hi, I would like to know if these irons is forged or cast? I have a7 stiff irons which are cast and I got good results with it, though it does not feel the forged buttery 8620 iron feeling. And whats the launch angle? I got high trajectory with my a7 irons and dropped with minimal rolls.
The CB1 and CB2 started a trend that we tried to follow in the Tech V3, forged forgiving irons. The irons in the Tech V3 Forged set is a forged head allowing for a soft feel but not sacrificing any forgiveness like normal oversize irons would.

Gracias.
I have three questions…1) So if I read the above comments correctly, you can bend the HYBRIDS? Because I need mine 2 degrees up (replacing Ping G15s). 2) I saw the 9064LS. I noticed a lot of buldge in the face. What is that supposed to do? 3) Are the UST Mamiya graphite shafts available as an option for the V3 hybrids and irons? Thanks!
Tom – here are some answers to your questions: 1. Yes our hybrids can be bent two degrees up or two degrees flat. 2. The bulge that you’ve noticed in the face of the new Speedline 9064LS Driver is designed to reduce side spin off the face. This will allow for straighter balls on mis-hit shots. 3. Yes, we will continue to use UST Mamiya shafts, those just must be placed through a custom order at your local retail outlet.
Does the new lightweight driver have that much bulge as well? Also, does it sit square or a little closed?
The Speedline 4G Ultra-Lite Driver and the 9064LS have the same amount of bulge in the face. The 4G sits a little more closed at address for added forgiveness. It can be built to be slightly open or closed to fit your personal preference.
I am 58 years old, I start to play golf May. 2008, I am 1.7 meter high. I think I handcup is 22. My swing spped is about 82 MPH ( I use Iorn 7# , can shot about 130 yards. I would like to buy your V3 Hybird iorn set, what kind flex is suitable for me?
I think it shoud be L for me? may be flex R is a little hard for me.

I currently play with Adams A30s. The other day my friends and were talking about how we would like a complete set of hybrid irons. Is the Idea Tech V3 the answer? Is there much difference fron the a70s max?
Hi Jake – the Idea Tech V3 is available in an all-hybrid set that has hybrids all the way through the wedge in order to allow maximum launch and forgiveness. The A7OS Max is for a similar type of player while the Idea Tech V3 is for the player looking for more distance, the finest materials and maximum performance available. The shape of the sole of the V3 hybrids are also designed for players who have a steep downswing as well as players who sweep through the point of contact. Most hybrids you’ll find are really designed for the “sweepers” of the golf ball.
Will the V3′s be the replacment for the A7OS’s? I use the A7OS 3-6 hybrids and they are extremely easy to hit. Can I get a 3 hybrid in the V3′s? I currently play Taylor Made Burner irons 7-SW and am a 9 HCap. Would like a matching set…V3′s may be it. Thank you.
Hi Bill – Idea Tech V3 is not a replacement for the a7OS set, although they are both designed for similar types of players. Idea Tech V3 is constructed with more premium materials that offer better feel, performance and looks. Tech V3 is available in an all-hybrid set or a combination of four hybrids and four forged short irons. The Tech V3 hybrids are easier to hit with more spin and more distance – there’s more relief on the sole that helps it cut through the turf compared to a7OS hybrids. Idea Tech V3 also comes in four different shaft options that are weighted by flex to fit each type of player better based on swing speed, swing type and launch conditions. We encourage you to try both sets at your local golf shop. The Idea Tech V3 Forged set might be the perfect set for what you are looking for. It is available in a 2 and 3 hybrid – as those will be shipping to retail stores November 1st.
Can a sand wedge and lob wedge be purchased separately that match the V3 forged set?
Hello John,
Yes, a SW and LW are available as forged short irons in the Idea Tech V3 set. Please contact our customer service department to place an order 800-709-6142
When will the V3 sandwedge with graphite shaft be available? I have looked all over.
Thanks.
Hi
I have recently had a bit of incident with my golf clubs (got run over by a golf buggy) which resulted in damage to my XTD A3 3 Wood and Idea Pro hybrids.
I now need to replace them and thought this was a good opportunity to upgrade; and although still like my Idea Pros maybe something a bit more forgiving.
I like the lower profile fairway/hyrbid style of wood for my 3 wood so was thinking of the following:
- Idea Black Super Hybrid 15 Deg – Adila Voo Doo – Stiff Shaft – to replace my 3W
- Idea Tech V3 3i (19 Deg) and 4i (22 Deg) – Stiff Shaft – to replace the Idea Pros
Has anyone got any feedback if these clubs complement each other e.g. different shaft and swing weight (not sure if that makes any difference) ?
My other choice would be the A7 (19 & 22 Deg) though this is also a different shaft and I might as well get the newest technology; how does the overall clubhead size of the Idea Tech V3 compare to the A7 ?
Thanks
Mike
dalmik@bigpond.net.au
Hi Mike, we’ll let others chime in with their thoughts about these different clubs that you mentioned. Sorry that your current clubs were damaged by the golf buggy. But as you say, there’s no better time to upgrade and we’ve got some terrific clubs to help replace your damaged ones.
Hi Thanks
Did you have any feedback regarding a comparison of the overall head size of the new Idea Tech V3 and the A7 and if the V3 is a more forgiving club than the A7.
Mike
Also (maybe it’s me) the new V3 hybrids look a little smaller and less forgiving than the Super Blacks. Is that true or is it just me? Thanks for all of the information!
Yes Tom, you are correct in that observation. The Tech V3 hybrids are smaller than the Super Black with more forgiveness. The Tech V3 are actually designed off the same chassis as the Super Hybrid but the size was reduced and tungsten weights were added to the sole for more forgiveness. You’ll also notice a V-shaped slot in the sole was created to reduce the amount of turf interaction at impact – that’ll help the ball get in the air better.
I would like to know what shaft options are available and how customized can a set be made? Thank you.
Paul
Thanks for the questions Paul. The Idea Tech V3 set has the capability of being bent 3 degrees upright or 3 degrees flat in the irons and the hybrids can be bent 2 degrees upright or 2 degrees flat. Any major iron or hybrid shaft can be ordered, just check with your local retailer for turn around time and pricing information.
Hi
I have recently bought the Tom Watson wedges from your company, and I must say they are magnificent!
I wonder, when I saw the Idea Tech V3 clubs, if they were anything for me. I liked the shape, color and how you decribed the clubs. A set I`ve been looking for, I think.
I`m a 17 handicap player.
I don`t know my club head speed or how i actually hit the ball. I`m 43 years old if that is of any importance.
I hope you understand my poor written language!
Thank you in advance!
Ragnvald
i am a big fan of adams equipment. i carry A7 4 and 5 hybrids and CB2 irons. can i have my A7 hybrids bent to match my irons..2 degrees flat? also can i order an individual Idea Tech V3 hybrid to replace my 6 iron? thanks, steve brewster
Does Adams make the Idea Tech V3 with a true forged 7 iron like the 8 thru PW, rather than the half hybrid/half iron currently in the set?
Could I get the forged/hybrid set with all steel shafts with shorter shaft lengths without messing up the swing wieghts?
I just purchased a set of the Idea Tech V3 forged in all graphite on the 14th and have played 36 holes of golf with them , and all I can say is you have designed a winner !!!
The feel is very solid and you can work the hybrids if need be , but straight and long is best .
I have gained a full clubs length over my Callaway X-14 Pro’s .
These Hybrids are like stealing shots on the course !
Cant wait till the Tech V3 3h and 2H are on the store shelves as those are next to be in my bag !!
They are confidence builders .
I was a 9-10 handicap 4-5 years ago but dont get to play as much anymore and probably a 12-13 handicap today. I want something easy to hit straight and high but am questioning if the “all hybrid set” might be too much and if the “forged” is a better fit? I tried a couple local golf stores but nobody carries in left hand so I cant hit them. I guess my question is if I elected to go with the all hybrid set would I lose anything? If the all hybrid are easier to hit why wouldnt everyone chose them or is it what “fits their eye”?
What is the loft of your 6 /7 hybrid tech V3
The V3 tech 6 hybrid is: 28 degrees. The V3 tech 7 hybrid is: 33 degrees
Mike,
The All hybrid set are for the definate higher handicappers. You will not get much spin on the ball. IMO, in the scoring irons, you will need some spin in order to stop the ball on the green from 150 yards and in. The ball has a lot to do with this as well. As a rule of thumb, a ball with a softer cover, will help the ball check up on the greens.
Since you are a 12-13 handicapper, you will probably not be too happy with the all hybrid set and may want to consider a blended set of hybrids if you want them and maybe CB2 irons in the scoring irons, maybe even in the 6 iron if you prefer. I hope this helps!
I’ve got a very steep swing, are the Idea Tech V3′s just not a good fit for me? I like what I’m hearing and seeing about the clubs though.
Whats the difference between the hybrids, i want to buy an adams hybrid but i dont know which one is the right one for me…
Have the intent to V3 Hybrid Idea Tech to buy 17 °, instead of a fairway woodwith 15 °, with whom I sometimes failures.
‘m Left-handed players 71 years and HC 18
When can I buy these Hybrid in Europe and is it right for me?
Best regards
Franz de Paul
We have several distributors in Europe, The Hybrids are schedules to arrive 12/15 and one of our best accounts is Buva Sports.
I have A4 Tech iron set. I know that they discontinued this model. Anyway I can get gap wedge.
Thanks,
Thank for your purchase of the Tech a4 set. Unfortunately, we do not have any gap wedges in stock. You can check our website and find a retailer locally to contact. We hope that you can find one – thanks for the questions.
I recently purchased the V3 Forged set and would like to also purchase the V3 Forged SW & LW, when will the wedges be available.
The Tech V3 series wedges will be in stores Dec. 15th. Swing by your local retailer and check them out, just in time for Christmas!
It’s December 24 and the V3 series wedges are not available.
Please tell me about the specs for the stock Adams’ Mitsubishi Rayon Bassara graphite shaft, I see the total weight (60 g for R flex) and understand the swing weight is D1. What is the kick point for the regular flex? for stiff? How does this Adams branded differ from the Mitsubishi branded Rayon Bassara graphite shaft.
Previously purchased the Cobra ZL Driver with the Cobra branded Voodoo Shaft which was much too wippy and not at all alike the name brand Voodoo.
Our Bassara graphite shaft has a few interesting things that you rarely see on the market today. As you work your way down from the stiff to the super lite series, the tip gets softer and the kick point gets lower. This is to ensure that the player with a slower swing speed is still able to get the ball into the air and a player with a higher swing speed does not hit the ball too high. At Adams, we only use after market shafts to ensure maximum performance in our clubs. Thank you for your interest in the New Tech V3 series!
How does the distance and accuracy of the graphite shafts compare with the steel.
Did I get you wrong? Normally a “higher kickpoint” (which is commonly understood “closer to the butt”) results in a lower flight-trajectory.
Pls. help me out!
Broder
I am a 15 year old and an 8 handicap. i was trying out the idea pro hybrids today and they felt pretty good, but i couldnt tell for sure if the ball was doing what i wanted it to because i was hitting them at golfsmith into a screen. Do you think that these hybrids would be a good investment for me or are they too advanced? please let me know. Thanks
First of all, thank you for your interest in our new Pro Black Hybrids. They have been a great selling product for the single digit handicap player. They typically fit a player who launches the ball low, has a higher than normal swing speed, and wants the hybrid to set flat on the ground like an iron. Lower handicap players meet that criteria and we are finding that more and more Pro Black hybrids are going into their bags!
On your website, it says that the A7OS hybrids are draw biased. Are the V3 hybrids specifically draw biased. I’m really looking for super forgiveness and to hit the ball straight. I really don’t want to work the ball right or left.
i live in the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, I am a 14 H.C. where can I go to get fitted with Adam V3 or A7os?
What are the loft and bounce angles on the Tech V3 SW and LW?
After hitting the Idea Tech V3 all-hybrids this past weekend at Golfsmith (Dec 5). I loved them at least as much as I could tell hitting into a net. I’m a 14 handicap and have been playing for 7 years. I have trouble hitting the green with my TM RAC OS. Because I liked your Idea Tech V3 hybrid/irons so much, I ordered them on the spot! The whole set! They’re being shipped direct from Adams. I need them before Dec 24th. How can expedite delivery?
At age 20 I had a 2 handicap still had a 6 handicap
at age 68 playing in Scottsdale AZ.
My question is Do you have a location where I can go
to be fitted, I lost my right leg above the knee two
years ago and want to get the right set of clubs that
fit me I am now 76 years old, my zip is 95648.
Thank you
How can i order the Tech V3 from this http://www.adamsgolf.com?
What is the difference between the idea a30s and the a70s? Is it just the newer version? Are the a30s a advanced set? thanks, rob
Where do I go to get fitted and will be able to hit clubs with different shafts before deciding? Zip is 61107
Switched to your clubs two years ago. I got a hole in one today. This is the first I have had in 35 years. What is really strange is that I hit this same pin two weeks ago. Will be playing Adams for the rest of my time
Rob asks about the difference between a3os and a7os. Could you further expand to compare and contrast these, the a4os and Tech V3? I’ve asked the Golfsmith people and didn’t get a response that made sense.
The a7OS set was an improved 2009 model of the highly successful a3OS series. The biggest difference between the two was the additonal weight added to the bottom of the a7OS club which allows the ball to launch higher. Both models have been highly successful for Adams Golf.
Do you anticipate offering a complete set of V3′s including driver, 3w, 5w and putter?
I’m interested in the new Tech V3′s but wish to purchase a complete set including woods. I want to upgrade from my A30S Senior set. Is such a package something Adams will offer in the future?
The Tech V3′s are only offered as a iron set. The new Fast 11 wood line has launched and would be a great addition to the set of irons you are currently playing.
The V3 Forged 8-GW are the best I have ever hit and I have owned just about everything. My problem is that I hate the 7 hybrid iron.
Do you make any other forged V3 Irons like 7 or 6?
If not what is the difference between the forged V3 irons and the CB 2 Irons?
You should consider making a full set of the V# Irons as they are that good, that easy, that accurate and that long
Lee
We are thrilled to hear about your success with the Adams Tech V3′s. The set was designed to be game improving and we did not make a true 6 or 7 iron, only hybrid versions. Our engineers are always looking for great feedback from consumers and your comments will certainly be passed onto them. The CB2 irons are forged with a smaller head and less offset. That set of irons is designed for more shot shaping capability. Thank you for choosing Adams!
I am in the same boat. I love every club in my (hybrid 4-6, forged 8-GW), but I just can’t hit the 7 hybrid/iron well. Any recommendations for a 7-iron that performs like the 8-GW?
Thanks,
Neil
Where can I get info on the loft and lie of this set? If I went with steel shafts in the 8.9.P and gap what true temper model shafts are standard? Can you get Dynalite Gold with sensicore? How long does it take to get a set made up and delivered?
Thank you again for your interest in Adams Golf products. We do offer the many custom shaft options but Dynalite Gold with Sensicore is not one of them. You should check with a local retailer and they can get you a complete list of shafts as well as fit into the perfect clubs for your game. The custom clubs can ordered, built, and in your hands in less than 2 weeks.
I’ve narrowed down my next set of clubs to either your a70S or V3-forged. I’m 55 with a 15 handicap.
On the one hand, I do like the V3′s because they have the 4-GW vs. the a70S’s 3-PW and their newer, black finish. But on the other hand, I’m not a fan of the V3 7-iron being a hybrid and of course, the a70S set is significantly less expensive – particularly when you add in the free gap wedge promo.
Could you go a bit more into the details of the differences between the a70S and v3′s for us, please?
Thanks!!
Hello I am 51 years old and am trying to figure out what set of hybrids best suits a 18 handicap. I have a pretty slow swing speed and low launch angle. I see golf digest rates the A70S higher than the Idea Tech V3 but the V3 has a higher launch angle.
And I read the complete hybrid set is not the way to go because of the lack of spin. I get no spin anyway on any club. But do you recommend the complete hybrid set for a high handicapper like me?
I would really appreciate comments from anyone who is a duffer like me and has used either set of clubs.
I just bought a set of V3′s and love them. Stupid question, but is there a way to touch them up ? After 2 weeks, the clubs are now half silver, half black on the face and the sole. Just wondering.
Congratulations to Adams Golf for basically without knowing what the Nationwide did if they even played this weekend clean sweeping the PGA, Champions, LPGA.
I am a 66 year old male who never seems to get better. My handicap is 30- what iron set do you recommend?
I just bought the forged set of V3s and played five holes with them today on lunch. So far, I am VERY pleased with the few shots I hit. I’ve upgraded from a set of A2OS and I was able to hit the 5h, the 9i, and GW today. The 5h flew straight as an arrow (also seemed to be about ten yds longer than the A2OS 5h), the 9i was forgiving on the one mis-hit I experienced with it, and the GW was overall excellent. I can’t wait to get a full round in and try the full range of clubs. As good as I always thought the A2s were, this 5h seems easier to hit – a bit heavier feeling to it IMHO. I think you have a winner there, Adams!
I almost wrote off the Idea Tech V3 hybrid, until I tested out the 17 degree 2 hybrid iron versus the a7OS 2 hybrid iron. The added length of the Idea Tech V3 really caught my attention and rather than my shots going to the right I was able to hit longer 200 plus yard fairway shots although I did hit my share of them with the a7Os. I am looking forward to the Idea Tech V3 hybrid being a staple in my set! Thanks Adams Golf…I am sure that the a7Os hybrid combo set will work well for me and the V3 2 iron hybrid will be a lifeline on holes where I really need it! Something about this hybrid said ADD ME TO YOUR BAG…and I felt it was a must have club!
Now that I do have a couple rounds under my belt with these V3s, I’m absolutely giddy with excitement for this coming season. This set is incredible! I’m easily 10-15 yds longer per club on the hybrids, and straighter too. What’s really nice is I know I can swing conservatively and still get more yardage than the old clubs. That keeps everything under control and I’ve no temptation to ‘kill it’. Thank you, Adams Golf!!
Anyone able to tell me the skinny on the black finish wear life of the Adams Idea Tech V3 Irons? I was told two different stories about the surface color on your Adams Idea Tech V3 Irons. One Adams rep said the black color of the clubs is carried through the entire club so a scotch will not show and the black finish will not wear through. One of the other Adams reps called it something close to power coating that will show wear. I am about to buy either your V3 Irons or the Cleveland HB3. My concern is that I don’t want to pay good money and after a couple rounds the clubs look like crap.
I purchased a set of AdamsV3 hybrid irons in April, 2011.
After 2 bucket of balls the black finish showed visible wear. I immediately brought my concerns about the premature wear to the store I purchased my Adams V3 clubs from. I was told by another golf store that the black finish was baked into the metal and would not come off. I was told by Adams that the premature wear on the club faces is normal. I think Adams made an error with the black finish and does not want to admit their mistake.
On a positive note, I really like the way the clubs handle. I am not sorry I bought them.
I am disappointed in Adams in that they have not admitted that the black finish is flawed.
I have a set of the regular Adams Idea Irons and Hybrid 3/4. I purchased them about 4-5 years ago and have been pretty happy overall. I was thinking about upgrading and wanted to know if there would be much of a difference between my current set and the Idea Tech V3.
Thanks,
Rich
I am a 63 year old male golfer with a 22 handicap. I am going to purchase the hybrid Tech 3 irons. I see that Adams offers a Senior shaft as well as a graphite shaft. What is the senior shaft and what does it do for the golfer? Thank you.
I have a high handycap and have always wanted to try andams golf clubs my question is what club would be better for a handycap of 15 or higher the a70s or the tech v3 i need something with max forgiveness and something that will help me with getting that high launch please help.
thanks for any help possible
Seems like everyone loves them. Wondering what IDEA tech stand for?
About two months ago I bought a set of Idea Tech V3 Hybrids with senior flex graphite shafts. During the 3rd round with them the 8 iron snapped off right at the hozel while trying to hit out of thick rough. Took the club to Dicks and it was repaired free of charge. Yesterday, now with maybe 12-15 rounds with the clubs, I hit a clean shot off of a fairway (I pick the ball rather than take a divot) with the 7 iron and the head broke off and flew about 20 yards. I was upset after snapping the 8 iron, now I am very angry about having to get another club re-shafted.
I am 68 years old, don’t have a very fast or strong swing and I have never abused these clubs. I actually play well with them when they don’t break. What is the problem with these clubs??? Are the heads too heavy for the senior/lite shafts?
i bought set of the vtech off the rack
can i still get them bent or fitted
love them
i live in florida, is there a cost

I’m 51 years old and play to a 5.4. I’m intrigued by the all hybrid V3 set…I’m not getting any younger afterall. My natural ball flight is a draw. How much offset is buit into the clubs?
I would like to know the difference between the a12 OS hybrid iron set and the Tech V3 hybrid iron set, i.e. head size, sole, weight, material, etc. Does one set offer an advantage? I have a 12.7 index but I have trouble with approach shots. Are light weight shafts available? Thanks for your attention and help.
I like the V3 set but not the 7 hybrid. curious, can i get the 7 iron in classic setup like the V3 short irons? Interested in a classic set preferrably the V3 set 7-GW but not with the 7 in hybrid form. Is that possible?
i already have a complete set of the V3 from 2H to 6H, 7 mid-iron and forged 8 to GW with the mitsubishi bassara R shafts and am quite happy with them….i recently added the steel shafted SW, LW and also the 7 mid-iron and forged 8 to GW as i sometimes find the graphite version of the short irons a bit light..
the steel shafts are true temper performance tech 75G shafts which i presume weigh 75 grams vs the 60 grams of the misubishi bassaras which is fine with me..
i tried to research the specs and performance characteristics of the TT performance tech shafts but could not find anything on them on the true temper website…i have only used the steel shafted versions once so far and although they feel good so far i would would like to know more about the shaft—kickpoint..weight..high/low/mid launching..where manufactured??
thanks for any replies..
PS..i am a big Adams fan and also have the mini-staff bag , (2) 9088UL drivers and the speedline lp slot velocity 3 wood..
I’m very happy playing the Tech V3 adams all hybrid set. It makes golf real fun. However after some shots from the bunker with the gapwedge, the blach paint on the clubface is disapearring. How can I restore it.
